Lykke's childhood in Denmark,
1968-1986
My family consists of
my mother, my father, my younger sister and me, but since my father is the photographer in
the family, he is rarely on a photo. Here my baby sister is just learning to walk,
assisted by my mother and me. |

One of our favourite
places to be was our grandparents' farm in Brande. Here we are playing in my grand mothers
garden. |
|
My grand parents' farm
was the meeting place for the whole family and we had a lot of fun there - especially with
our aunts: Anny and Lissy. Here is Anny doing garden work and entertaining my sister, me,
and Lissy's dog at the same time. |

I have always loved to
go to school, and I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to get all the high
quality education I wanted. I wish all kids on earth were so fortunate. In the year
2001, our school celebrated its 100 year anniversary with a big party for all alumnis. I
went to Denmark to participate and although I had not really missed my old class mates, it
was fantastic to see them again. Please stay in contact:

An important event in
my childhood was the building of our house in Ry. My father is an architect and he did
most of the work assisted by the rest of the family. It was a great experience for us kids
and a nice house that came out of it. I would like to do the same for my kids - but in
Bolivia (see our building project in La Paz).

Another
wonderful period of my life was my highschool years. Gosh we had a lot of fun! My bus
connection from Ry was extremely bad, which meant I had to leave home before six o'clock
in the morning. The positive side effect was that I had a lot of waiting time in which I
could do my homework.
I was still a very good student (in most topics, at least), but I had a motor cycle
accident just before our finals, and I broke my right arm, which was a severe handicap. As
a result of that, my grades dropped significantly, and I was excluded from my first priory
studies at the University. But the Economics Department took me, which in retrospect was
probably the best that could have happened to me.
Below is my highschool class the day we graduated. I am the one in the front row with a
cast on my right arm.
I still maintain contacts with Per Skrumsager and Jesper Lindholt, who also continued
to study economics, but I would love to hear from the rest of you. Press:

After finishing my education, I left
Denmark, but I still come back regularly on vacations. I also
held my wedding there in 1996. |
