Our house building project in La Paz We have acquired a spectacular piece of land in the outskirts of La Paz where we plan to build our future family estate. The plot is quite large and rather steep so it is going to be a huge job to create the environmentally correct adobe house in the lush garden that we envision.
Family and friends interested in a break from their usual lives in order to learn Spanish in a Spanish speaking country, or to get developing country experience for their CV, or to get in superior physical condition in preparation for an iron man, or to get a thorough sun tan (not recommended), or to learn how to build adobe houses, or to get acquainted with another culture, are all most welcome to spend some months with us in La Paz sometime during the next decade. We will be particularly hospitable to people with architectural skills, construction skills, gardening skills, wood work skills, artistic skills, decorating skills, or other building experience. The first sub-project is to build the annex for visitors, so that we have a place to stay in the weekends, when we are working on the land. Time schedules are a little hard to make, but there is now road access, so we could get started this year.
